Piru MX Park was founded in 1996 by Craig Lynch under the name Lemon Grove Cycle Park due to the numerous lemon groves in the surrounding area. Near the old Indian Dunes Cycle Park which closed in 1985 after a rash of lawsuits, Piru Motocross Park is a scenic course, but only 50% viewable from the parking area as the track is layed out in a canyon on the side of a hill.
