Starwest Supercross Park rose to popularity in the1990's when local racetracks were not yet skewed to the tight and technical jump ridden courses characteristic of stadium motocross (Supercross). Starwest was among the first to bring a supercross style track design to the general public, and did it so well that factory pro riders were a common sight throughout the mid 90's during their tuesday & thursday night public practice sessions under the lights. The track has since mellowed their jump setups to cater more to the average rider, but anyone who rode Starwest in the mid-90's remembers 'The Death Star'.
Since its inception, Starwest has changed ownership numerous times and continues its rigourous day & evening schedule for popen practice and races. The track prep is consistently very good, and the layout changes every few months.
